Orthopaedic Surgery in Bristol

Bristol has a prestigious history of pioneering orthopaedic surgery over the last 100 years and remains a major centre for orthopaedic research.

The Bristol Orthopaedic Trust

The Bristol Orthopaedic Trust is a charitable organisation that was set up 25 years ago to raise money to help fund important research in Bristol.

Research is needed into joint disease, bone cancers, joint replacements and broken bones in children and adults with the aim of helping the patients of the future.

Orthopaedics

Orthopaedics is the treatment of bone and joint disease. Musculoskeletal problems cause significant suffering to all age groups.

Osteoarthritis is the most common reason for orthopaedic surgery in older people.

Total hip and knee replacement are some of the most successful operations available in medicine, and more than 160,000 are performed each year in the UK. Orthopaedic surgeons and their teams constantly strive to improve the care their patients receive.

We need your help today
